Marjorie Lemay's animated debut Les Nocturnes is a gorgeous multi-media animation that uses cut-outs, engraving and painting on glass to create a snapshot of the vivacious nightlife of the deep woods - animals hunt and howl as the moon illuminates their secret communication in flickers and flashes.

Taking a decidedly different approach is the ambitious Auscultation of the Heart by Marjorie Lemay and Eric Vachon. The film gives an image of a wintry cabin and fills the peaceful shot with ghostly fleeting images. It’s a visually arresting film and one that probably yields more on a second viewing.
